Songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, singer, videographer — all things Jacob Collier does on a scale of exceptional to superb.

He recently released an album, In My Room, and below is one of the songs from that album. He’s barely into his 20s and has already shown that he ain’t messing around, most notably becoming the protegé of Quincy Jones; other Collier fans include Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea.

My rating (careful — it’s complicated):

♦ – One of my current favorite artists

0 – Definitely needs a listen

0 – He’s okay

0 – Not recommended, but go ahead, it’s a free country

0 – Stay away…seriously

0 – This choice is clearly not needed.
